Did you know that Nine Inch Nails has a new project out?

They do!

I’m listening to it right now.

“Ghosts I – IV” is 36 tracks full of eerie yet sensual instrumental music from Trent and the crew.

(If you haven’t noticed, I’m a fan.)

Did you know that you can download the first 9 tracks off the NIN website FOR FREE!?

You can also download the rest of the tracks for $5.00!

Five dollars!

A steal if you ask me. (But you didn’t.)

NIN doesn’t have a contract with any record label so they are releasing this new music independently, through their site. Which can only lead to great things.

There’s a link that gives you the opportunity to download 40 gorgeous images that accompany the music from the site, to enhance your listening pleasure.

(They even have a Flickr account)

(I’m so friggin’ excited.)

Go listen, tell me what you think. I’m only a fan, you won’t hurt my feelings if you don’t like it.

Oooh, I forgot! You can also download all the tracks into your ‘Mac Garage Band’ application and mess with them on your own to create new sounds…how cool?

Just wanted to express my joy in the fact that iTunes now has The Southern Harmony & Musical Companion…I just downloaded it.

I had the CD when it first came out and then an ex-boyjerk took it from me and never gave it back. Dick.

I’ve been waiting patiently for iTunes to carry it..I got the alert today!

Joy of Joys…!

Tell me they are not the greatest of all time…I dare you.

Sometimes Salvation from Southern Harmony and Musical Companion

A Conspiracy from Amorica

She Talks to Angels from Shake Your Money Maker

One Song…Glory

August 13, 2007

Saturday Night.

With him and him in their returning roles as Roger and Mark.

And her as Mimi.

I cried.

A lot.

Seeing the original cast members reviving their characters in the flesh was hypnotizing. I have been dying to see this happen and it actually did…

The show, of course was fantastic and the atmosphere was electric. Everyone was thrilled to see ‘Roger’ and ‘Mark’ do their thing. And they do it flawlessly.

When ‘Roger’ came on stage grasping his guitar at the beginning of the show, the audience went wild. They didn’t even let ‘Mark’ begin speaking for at least five minutes. Rockin’.

It was truly magical. Nothing like Broadway Baby!

Before the show, we ate at BLT Fish. Talk about yum. Holy tuna. De~licious! And the waitstaff…very attentive and polite.

Then, after the show we visited some friends in Chelsea. (For a Penthouse apartment, youda thought they had a lot of space. It was teeny-tiny and the RENT! Shit.)

Had some drinks and by 1am I thought I should be headin’ home. I mean really.

So, of course I slept most of Sunday, much to The Pro’s chagrin. He claims every time I go out late…The next day is a waste.

Listen. Whateva.

I had a farking blast and I am in awe of that show. I want to go see it again before Adam Pascal’s and Anthony Rapp’s run is up…I doubt it but wishful thinking.

And how was your weekend?

Outlandos d’Amour

August 2, 2007

Saw The Police last night at the Garden.

No, not the cops!

The Police…Sting, Stewart Copeland and Andy Summers…Yeah baby.

I am even more in love than I ever was before. You know how I get when I see a band live.

I fall. Hard.

I won’t link videos. You know their songs. If you don’t, crawl out from under that very large rock you are living beneath and go buy some albums.

And never come here again until you do.

Some of my favorites from last night in no particular order: (I can never remember the order)
**So Lonely
**King of Pain
(My two very faves of all time)
Every Breath You Take
Don’t Stand so Close to Me
Wrapped Around Your Finger
De Do Do Do De Da Da Da
Synchronicity II
Next to You
Hole in My Life
Walking On The Moon
The Bed’s Too Big Without You
Every Little Thing She Does..
Invisible Sun
Can’t Stand Losing You
Message in a Bottle
The Truth Hits Everybody
Message in A Bottle
Driven To Tears
When the World is Running Down
Walking in Your Footsteps

Wait, I think that’s every song. Yeah, it is.

All I wanna know is how those three stayed so frickin’ hot after all these years? They hardly even sweat. They are all so in shape and gorgeous. Oh! And talented too.

Stewart Copeland ran from drum kit to drum kit the entire night. He had a gigantic gong and some other percussion instruments behind his regular kit that he kept running between. I still don’t know how he kept the time…

The Garden had sold out seats behind the stage and the oval shape of the stage allowed the band to walk around and greet the fans from the back. They had some pretty good interaction with the band!

What pissed me off about the show. (And this HARDLY ever happens!) When I’m at a show, I never pay attention to the audience around me…I am there for the experience of the band.

But, the place was packed (it seemed) with people who thought they were going to see “The Sting Show” and sat for most of the time until songs like “Roxanne” and “Every Breath You Take” started.

What the?

There were Police fans out there that couldn’t get tickets for last night’s show because those yuppy assholes scoffed up their tickets to hear “Roxeanne” and then sit the rest of the show and chit chat. Just to say they saw The Police.

Obviously I’m generalizing but that was the atmosphere around me..

I was grateful that the two undeserving beyatches in front of me only popped their asses out of their seats to dance to the ‘cool’ songs…because that meant I had a better view of the band most of the night. I got to see three of the most talented musicians of my time, perform live…and I wasn’t missing a note.

We had great seats. I tried to take a picture of the stage before the show, to remember how close we actually were but they didn’t come out great. And I was NOT stopping to rip out my cell phone again to snap fuzzy pictures of the band. Like I said, I wasn’t missing a beat!

So all in all the concert itself was amazing. The surrounding audience…hardly amazing.

I am so grateful that I got to see The Police live…Now if only I could find tickets for Friday’s show….

More Travis for your viewing pleasure!

Earning His keep and Other Lighthearted Thoughts

July 16, 2007

I know. Hard to believe, right. Lighthearted? Me?

Well, seems ‘Friday the Thirteenth’ turned out to be a not so bad day.

Instead of being like this:

It turned out to be more like this:

I know that I swore I wouldn’t talk potty until it actually happened…but guess what? It happened! (**Insert happy dance here**) Since Friday, July 13th 2007 to today…Monday, July 16th, 2007…We have had dry (and might I add quite colorful panties) on…and we have been putting our pee in the pot.

I know. Can you stand it?

I can’t either.

Wanna know how we did it?
Yup! Dopey.

We threatened to get rid of him if she didn’t start using the pot. And she did. Talk about fighting for what you believe in!

So she’s been dry since. Puttin’ the pee in the proper receptacle and….And poopin’! Because you know, my kid is a genius! (I can’t believe how it just friggin’ clicked this weekend!)

She wanted to wear her panties but she wouldn’t pee in the pot. So we had to take drastic measures. Seems Dopey is worth more than I give him credit for. Never underestimate the love of a puppy.

Wish us luck. There’s no turning back now. It’s panties or bust.

I was just on the phone with a friend telling her how the dreaded PT was nonexistent. And that day she started.

Trust me, there were tears in the beginning. But once she realized she could do it….There was no stoppin’ her.

She’s all “Mommy I have to pee!” Mommy I have to poop!” and we run to the pot and she sits and goes…Like she’s been doing it her whole entire life.

I guess there’s truth in what they say about letting her do it on her own time. When she’s ready!

And she’s so proud! I’ve never seen her light up as much!

Oh! My girlie!

That’s all I’m gonna say about that subject for now. (I don’t want to overdo it) But you all know how happy this makes me…

On an even lighter note: Last night, The Pro and I took in a show. Yes!

We saw Travis at Irving Plaza and it was so awesome.

I am more in love with this band now than ever before. We’ve seen them there once before but I didn’t know them all that well back then. And the last time they played there, Fa was a newborn and I was too messed up to go…

They rocked!

Fran Healey is absolutely brilliant. A showman! A musician! A songwriter…All of it.

And I got to see them play live!

They came out in colorful boxer’s robes to the Rocky theme through the audience and started paying this:

And then two hours later, they ended with this song again and This guy (Demitri Martin) did this exact skit on stage with them…Too friggin’ cool!

They played two whole hours of kick ass songs and The Pro and I boogeyed and shook our hineys and our throats are hoarse and it was phenomenal!

Now I’m tired and I’m being paged to go potty!

Ah! The small things in life. Yes?
