Keep Talking

My kid doesn’t stop talking.

To me.

To her teacher.

To anyone.

And you know what?

I love it.

But I just know others think she’s a little attention hog. Especially when she says, “Hey, Look AT MEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!” While she’s playing, reading, eating….in public.

But they are dead wrong!

She has just found her voice. Literally and figuratively.

You see, I know what she was like last year at this time when she wouldn’t dare open her mouth in public or talk to anyone even if I said it was okay!!! To the point where I had Early Intervention come over to get her evaluated. (Turned out she wasn’t developmentally delayed so they advised me to go through her public school once she started.)

And I planned to do just that, until she blossomed…And she became a chatty, outgoing and dare I say, confident girl.

That’s why I love that she talks.

All the time.

Yes, it does get monotonous once in a blue moon…Yes, she repeats herself often. Yes, after a full day of chit chat…all I want is peace and quiet and maybe a solo spot in the bathroom.

But I’ll be damned if I ever tell her to stop.

Her vocabulary and understanding of the English Language at her age is almost freaky. Her use of wonderful words in their correct context, her joy in communication, her love and excitement for learning and reading…

I could never stop that.

I love it. I love it all.

And I am so proud of how far she’s come in just one year.

As Farfallina would say…”This is phenomenal!”

And you know what…she’s right.

Keep talking Girlie, I’m all ears.
